Founded 2016

The Castle Alpha Tau Foundation, Inc. was founded in 2016 by alumni of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, Alpha Tau Chapter, chartered at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. The organization's Officers & Directors consist of alumni of the Alpha Tau Chapter.

The organization is incorporated in New York State as a Not-For-Profit Corporation, & is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) Not-For-Profit Organization; EIN 81-3121349.

The mission statement of the Castle Alpha Tau Foundation, Inc. is to "Renovate & preserve the architectural, historic, & civic value of the building more commonly known as 49 Second Street, Troy, NY 12180, currently registered with the New York State Historical Preservation registry, & to increase historical preservation awareness through educational programs open to the community."

It is the goal of the Castle Alpha Tau Foundation, Inc. to fundraise, & in turn fund projects that will allow for the restoration, renovation, & preservation of the historic structure. By doing so, this will also allow for continued public showcasing & programming; for example, during the annual Victorian Stroll in Troy, NY.
